qovah

The terms, in plain words.

These are the terms between you and Qovah Technology for using Qovah. Last updated 6 October 2026.

About these terms

Qovah is made by Qovah Technology ("we", "us"). These terms cover this website, the online till in your browser, Qovah Desktop, Qovah Cloud, the free trial every new business starts on, online payments, and the hardware and setup we arrange. By using any of them, you agree to these terms.

If you use Qovah for a business, you agree for that business, and you confirm you're allowed to. How we handle information is on the Privacy page.

Your account

  • Cloud, the online till and online payments use a Qovah account with a correct email. Signing up in a browser creates your business and starts its free trial. The Desktop trial requires local setup and one online activation with a Qovah account, and purchased Desktop seats require online activation.
  • Keep your password, your PINs and your recovery key to yourself. Anything done with them is treated as done by you or your staff.
  • Owners decide who works on their tills and what each person may do. You're responsible for the staff you add and what they do in Qovah.

The till and Desktop

  • The free trial. Every new business gets 14 days of Cloud Growth from the moment it is created, with no card. It is one plan grant that does not renew, and one per owner account: another business does not start it again. It does not include WhatsApp ordering. Online payments on a trial need a verified payout account and our approval of the business, as a paid plan does. When it ends without a plan the business becomes read-only: selling stops and your business's records are kept, so buying a plan later resumes where you left off.
  • The Desktop trial lasts 14 days from online activation after setup. It requires no card or subscription, and is separate from the Cloud trial above. Reinstallation or restoring a backup does not restart it.
  • Desktop is a one-time purchase. It includes the Qovah updates released during the year after you buy it. Covered versions work indefinitely offline after activation. Owned computers retain versions obtained during a paid Cloud period after cancellation. Updates outside coverage require valid Cloud access; there is no priced update-renewal offer.
  • A Desktop licence works on as many computers at once as it was bought for. It's for your business: it can't be shared with or sold to others. We may stop a licence that was refunded or shared.

Qovah Cloud plans

  • Cloud plans are subscriptions, monthly or yearly, and renew until you cancel. Checkout and billing are run by our payment partner, Paystack, whose terms also apply to the purchase. All Qovah purchases are charged in Ghana cedi. Subscription renewals use cards. The final payable amount is shown before you pay.
  • You can cancel at any time. A cancelled plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Cloud includes Desktop use while valid, without creating perpetual ownership. Failed renewal has seven days of payment grace. When valid access ends, purchased and activated Desktop seats keep local use on covered versions; Cloud-only computers become read-only. Local history, authorized exports and backup/recovery remain available. We keep your business's data in Qovah Cloud for 90 days, warn you a week before it's deleted, and then delete it, except payment records (see below).

Online payments

  • Online payments (payment links, mobile money prompts, refunds and payouts) are processed by Paystack. To take them, you set up a payout account for your business, and agree to Paystack's terms for merchants. We check each business and its payout account before live payments start, and again when the payout account changes.
  • Money your customers pay settles from Paystack to your payout account. We never hold it. Paystack's processing fee applies to every payment: you choose, in your online order settings, whether it is added to what your customer pays or comes out of your own takings. Where it is added, it is shown to your customer before they pay, and it is yours to account for as part of the price. Qovah charges no fee on payments today; if that changes, we'll tell you before it applies, and never for payments already made.
  • You're the seller. You're responsible for what you sell, its prices and taxes, refunds and disputes with your customers, and following the law and Paystack's rules on what can be sold.
  • A payment counts as made only when Paystack confirms it. We keep payment records for 7 years, even after a plan ends, because the law and disputes may need them.
  • We may pause online payments for a business while we look into suspected fraud, a dispute, or something Paystack asks of us.

Your data

  • Your business's data is yours: your items, sales, staff and customers. On the desktop till it stays on your computer. With Qovah Cloud, we keep a copy to sync your tills, back them up and run the online till, and use it only to provide Qovah to you.
  • We count what happens across all businesses together, like how many orders are paid and how much money moves through Qovah, as totals that never show any one business. We use them to run and improve Qovah, and may share the totals. The Privacy page lists what's counted.
  • If you record your customers' details, you're responsible for having their agreement and handling them as the law requires. We process them for you.
  • Keep your own backups too. The till makes one every day, and you can copy them anywhere.

Hardware and setup

Hardware and setup are quoted for each store. A quote says what's included, its price and its terms, and you agree to those when you accept it. Hardware carries its maker's warranty.

Using Qovah fairly

  • Don't use Qovah to break the law, to sell what the law or Paystack forbids, or to deceive anyone.
  • Don't try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, or to disrupt Qovah for others.
  • Don't resell or rent out access to Qovah Cloud or the online till without our written agreement.

Changes and availability

  • Qovah Desktop keeps selling without the internet, and the online till holds a sale made in a browser you have already signed in on until it can send it. Qovah Cloud, online payments and everything else we run need the internet, and we work to keep them running, but can't promise they'll never be interrupted.
  • Qovah changes as we improve it. We may add, change or retire features, and we'll tell you before taking away something you pay for.
  • We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and tell people with accounts by email or in Qovah before an important change applies.

Our responsibility

  • We make Qovah with care, but provide it as it is, as far as the law allows. Check your totals, your stock and your cash-ups.
  • As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for lost profits, lost sales or indirect losses, and our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.
  • Nothing here limits rights you have by law that can't be limited.

Stopping

You can stop using Qovah at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why when we can. Parts that by their nature continue, like payment records and our responsibility, carry on after.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana deal with any dispute. Questions about them? Contact us.
